Robbinsdale Armstrong Sophomore Andrew Urevig fought through two days of debate to qualify for the 2012 Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) State Tournament.  The MSHSL State Tournament is the longest running state tournament, entering its 111th year.  Andrew finished in 3rd place to earn his spot at next weekends State Debate Tournament.  This is the first time in school history that Robbinsdale Armstrong has qualified a student to the MSHSL State Debate Tournament.

“This is an unbelievable accomplishment for Armstrong Debate.  We are still a young and building program and to be able to accomplish this so soon is fantastic for the school and the program.  This is truly a team accomplishment,” said Head Coach DJ Brynteson.

The state tournament is held on the campus of the University of Minnesota on January 13th and 14th.  The MSHSL State Debate Tournament was first held in 1902.  The Robbinsdale Armstrong Debate team is coached by DJ Brynteson, Chyenne Thibodo and Robert Cegla.
